⬆️🆙MID-SEASON PROMOTIONS⬆️🆙 Congratulations to 6 of our members who have received mid-season promotions following the Referee Committee meeting on Sunday. ⚽️ Dan McFarlane has been re-classified to Category 1M Select, the highest referee category in male Domestic Football. He will now regularly officiate in the SPFL Premiership and Championship, following his Premiership debut earlier this season. 🔝 Olivia Crawford and Ewan Pow have been re-classified to Category 3M and Category 1W. This means they will be eligible to referee the Highland League and Scottish Women’s Premier League, and act as assistant referees in the SPFL Championship, League 1 and League 2. 🆙 Paulina Ruszniak has been added to the National List of Referees as a Category 3M Development Referee. This is the start of the national pathway for referees and is a reflection of the hard work and effort put in to get to this stage. 💪 James Coull and Keith Noble have been re-classified to Category 4M Dev and Category 2W. These are highest category of grassroots referees outside of the National List, and will allow them to officiate in the North Region Junior Premier League along with acting as assistant referees in the Highland League and Scottish Women’s Premier League. 🤝 James and Keith’s first set of appointments will be of the international variety, as they head to Qatar next week to referee, as part of our continued commitment to referee development at all levels. Well done to member Duncan Nicolson for his appointment to the recent UEFA U19’s Championship Qualifiers. Duncan was appointed as 4th official for 3 of the group games played in Scotland.

Well done to members Olivia Crawford and Paulina Ruszniak for their appointment to the recent Women’s U17 Friendly.

Huge congratulations to Aberdeen & District member Stephen Nicol, who has been awarded North Region Grassroots Referee of Year in the Scottish FA Grassroots Awards 🥳

Stephen, who has been a referee for over a decade, can be regularly found officiating local Amateur and Juvenile football. This award is great recognition for his dedication to grassroots football across Aberdeen and District. 🏆👏

The annual Scottish FA grassroots awards, presented by McDonald’s and the Sunday Mail aim to recognise and reward people across the country that make a difference to grassroots football in their local community.
