Huge congratulations to Aberdeen & District member Stephen Nicol, who has been awarded North Region Grassroots Referee of Year in the Scottish FA Grassroots Awards 🥳

Stephen, who has been a referee for over a decade, can be regularly found officiating local Amateur and Juvenile football. This award is great recognition for his dedication to grassroots football across Aberdeen and District. 🏆👏

The annual Scottish FA grassroots awards, presented by McDonald’s and the Sunday Mail aim to recognise and reward people across the country that make a difference to grassroots football in their local community.

This award shall be awarded on an annual basis which will be presented at our first members meeting of the new season. The recipient of the award will be the member who has officiated at highest level of Cup Final within the Scottish Football Pyramid. This years award was presented at our recent meeting in August 2024 to Calum Spence for his role as Assistant Referee in the Scottish Cup Final in May between Celtic v Rangers at Hampden Park. Calum performed exceptionally well and was a credit to himself and our association.
